Who?

This project is coordinated by Associazione Sabbeen Group(IT) in partnership with Youth Pioneers (UK), Svendborg Ungdomskkole (DK), Kungsbacka Municipality (SE), A.T. ONIX (RO).

Sabbeen Group is social promotion association constituted in January 2016, from a group of people active in the youth field, started in Sabbioneta in 2012. The association aims to support the personal development of youth and community development through European and national / local projects. In the first four years of operation, Sabbeen Group has already coordinated 9 European projects for young people with European funding. Also, it has provided cross-cultural experiences of free learning for over 150 young people, in various European countries.

 

What?

From December 12 to December 21, 2016, SG organizes the activities of the project which is called MERRY EUROPE, project that aims support for intercultural dialogue and contributes to the development of competences of young people in the field of European citizenship, inclusion, social initiative and creativity.

When? Where?

Merry Europe is a project of international mobility based on a multilateral youth exchange in the context of the Erasmus + program. The project period and from 1 September 2016 to 30 March 2017 and will include an international meeting to be held in Castelcerino di Soave (IT), 12 to 21 December 2016. The partner organizations (Sabbeen Group – Italy, Municipality of Svendborg Ungdomsskole-Denmark , AT-ONIX Romania, Municipality of Kungsbacka-Sweden and youth Pioneers-GB) involving 8 young people for each for the meeting.

 

Why?

The project aims to support the development process of young people’s skills. “Merry Europe” supports the development of skills of young people, to be aware of their European citizenship, to raise awareness and promote active European citizenship, to promote tolerance and mutual understanding between young people from different countries and social groups. Based on the themes of awareness and the inclusion of this project it aims to achieve the following objectives:

  1. Raise awareness of 30 young people from third countries with regard to European citizenship
  2. Cultivating inclusive attitudes towards disadvantaged young people
  3. Encourage social initiatives, creativity and entrepreneurship among 30 young people from 3 countries

How?

During the eight days of activities, participants, aged 15-22 years, from Italy, Denmark, Sweden, Great Britain and Romania will work together on concepts such as European citizenship, intercultural dialogue and the inclusion through different types of activities. Using similar cultural elements, young people will live an innovative experience, encouraging them to be active citizens who participate in their community life, to become European citizens that help build an open society, a European Union that works.

The activity and structured in three parts: European Citizenship, Inclusion and Christmas/ Winter traditions.

At the end of the activities, the multinational group will organize, with the support of the parish of St. John Calabria (Castelcerino), an artistic meeting and presentation of winter cultural elements with the community of Castelcerino / Soave.
