Involvement to Quality – Erasmus Plus

Within the context of EVS ‘Involvement to quality’, every week we are involved in the creation of a new project which is related to different topics. This week, we have decided to work on the topic of raising the environmental awareness in teenagers. Environmental education is a process with the aim of imparting to the target group non-formal education in environmental awareness, ecological knowledge, attitudes, values, commitment for actions, ethical responsibilities for the rational use of resources and for a sustainable development.

All across the world, people are facing a wealth of new and challenging environmental problems every day. Some of them are small and only affect a few ecosystems, but others are drastically changing the landscape of what we already know.

Environmental protection and preservation of the planet is the responsibility of every individual and community on Earth. The most pressing environmental issues are climate change, waste and energy. As far as the climate change is concerned, scientists agree that humans are influencing the the climate change through the production of greenhouse gases, especially carbon dioxide, which alter the composition of the global atmosphere. Climate change has various harmful effects such as melting of polar ice, change in seasons, frequent occurrence of floods and change in overall weather scenario. Moreover, the over consumption of resources and creation of plastics are creating a global crisis of waste disposal. Developed countries are notorious for producing an excessive amount of waste or garbage and dumping their waste in the oceans.

In our project, we decided to carry out some practical activities in order to involve participants in the topic of environment. We are going to give participants brochure and stickers. At first we’ll have exhibition with the drawings of participants, followed by the cleaning of the Parcul central and the building of greenhouse like model with the help of participants in order to explain the causes of global warming. Moreover, there will be many funny and interesting activities, one of them is playing a game with words and winner will plant a tree. Last activity is the flashmob in which every participant will be involved.

So as we all work towards a greener, more sustainable future, adopting responsible practices to lower and eliminate emissions of all greenhouse gases.
